Game Reviews #12 - Damnation
Platform: Steam
Store Page: I wouldn't if I were you.
Price I Paid: Free! (TremorGames) I still paid too much for this drivel.
Blimey. That's what sums up this game. I was genuinely looking forward to playing this. Ultimately, it's bad. So bad in fact I could only get so far through the game because my game glitched and just downright refused to let me make a jump at a ledge. So, I'll try my best to construct an opinion of what I played.
Storyline wise, nothing special. Almost non-existant to be perfectly honest. So our almost fedora hat wearing friend Rorke is the guy we play as. He's generic action hero from every game ever mind you so don't be surprised if you think you're playing a different, better game. You're accompanied by two generic characters, woman and ethnic character so it ticks all the boxes for an anti racism cast and you're plonked into the game.
Right off the bat, you'll notice the graphics, for 2009 are very meh. Much like the graphics, the voice acting is meh as well. Very bland characters with no real purpose and obvious gruff voice for the action man of the story that is Rorke. I remember watching the trailer for this and getting excited for it, then I forgot about it and found it on Steam. I seriously can't recommend this game, at all. One of the "selling points" was that it had a whole 10 Steampunk weapons and it gave off a sense of "Vertigo" when climbing. No joke, that's what they decided would sell their game.
No salvagable good part about this game, at least it functions I suppose? Nothing interesting whatsoever in this game, only buy it if you really want to play something terrible or are a collector.
